European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO)
The European Union is the world’s biggest donor of humanitarian aid, providing more than 50% of humanitarian aid worldwide.
Its European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO) was created in 1992 as an expression of the European solidarity with people in need all around the world. In 2004 it became the Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid before integrating Civil Protection in 2010 for a better coordination and disaster response inside and outside Europe. In 2010, Kristalina Georgieva was appointed as the first dedicated Commissioner for international cooperation, humanitarian aid and crisis response.

HOPE’87
HOPE’87 is an Austrian initiative cooperating closely with the Austrian Federal Chancellery and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs regarding the support of youth employment projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America as well as in Central-and Eastern Europe. This international initiative is based on the UN resolution 40/16″ Opportunities for Youth” adopted by the General Assembly on the occasion of the International Youth Year of the UN(1985). Young people are encouraged to show self-initiative and to realize their own ideas of small and medium scale, locally-developed projects creating training and employment for themselves and other young people.

CARE International
CARE International is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO)
Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) is a national civil society organization. Its national center is in Islamabad, but it has eight regional offices in Multan, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Karachi, Lahore, Turbat and Dera Ismail Khan. Besides that one project office in Muzafarabad and six temporary project offices are contributing to achieving SPO’s goals. The national center’s role is to co-ordinate activities of all the regional centers and in addition to its corporate functions provides technical support and guidance on issues such as programme policies, strategies, funding and networking. The regional centers are directly responsible for implementing SPO’s strategy in the field.

Aktion Deutschland Hilft, Germany’s Relief Coalition is a union of Germanr elief organizations that can provide rapid and effective aid in the case of large catastrophes and emergency situations abroad.

Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA)
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) was started by the Seventh-day Adventist Church as a way to follow Christ’s example of serving and caring for those in need. Put simply, ADRA improves the lives of people around the world. The agency searches out deprivation, social injustice, and need—then works to eliminate them. ADRA invests in the potential of individuals through advocacy, supporting families, promoting health, providing food and water, establishing livelihoods, and responding to emergencies.

Canada Pakistan Basic Education Project
In April 2002, CIDA launched its Basic Education Action Plan, committing itself to the goals of the Dakar Framework for Action and thereby to universal access to and completion of, primary education, improvements in the quality of education for learners of all ages, and equality in all aspects of the education system. CIDA through its development assistance program for Pakistan decided to provide a grant for improving Pakistan ’s basic education through the Canada-Pakistan Basic Education Project (CPBEP). The project focuses on federal level institutions, and the province of Punjab along with selected districts.
